Before 2013, many soap and bath bomb businesses earned income from selling products designed to look like food, such as cupcakes, lollipops, doughnuts, and other brightly coloured, attractive items. Before the current legislation came into force, soaps shaped like and scented like fruit were also very popular. In my view, there was a lack of clear information at the time. Since then, the issue has become a frequent topic on social media and a source of confusion, frustration, and restriction for many makers.

Yet there are many who manufacture “foody” items and it has been decided that they must have had stringent tests done on their products, really? So it would seem that you can imitate food which completely contradicts any legislation doesn’t it?
