Bicarbonate of Soda Is an alkaline substance, which makes it particularly good at breaking down organic "funk" like grease, proteins, and animal odours.

Essential Cleaning Uses

1. The Power Scrub (Sinks, baths, and Ovens)

Because bicarb is a mild abrasive, it scrubs surfaces without scratching them (unlike harsh scouring pads).

• Method: Sprinkle bicarb directly onto a damp sponge or the surface itself. Scrub in a circular motion to lift soap scum, grease, or burnt-on food.
• Best for: Enamel sinks, stainless steel, and glass stovetops.

2. Deodorising "The Smelly Stuff"

Bicarb doesn't just mask odours; it neutralizes them by balancing pH levels.

• Carpets & Rugs: Sprinkle a thin layer over the carpet, let it sit for 15–30 minutes, then vacuum. It lifts pet smells and mustiness.
• Fridges: Keep an open box in the back to soak up food odours.
• Shoes: Sprinkle a little inside trainers overnight and shake them out in the morning.

3. Cutting Through Oven Grease

• Method: Make a thick paste using 3 parts bicarb to 1 part water. Coat the inside of the oven (avoiding the heating elements).
• The Wait: Let it sit for at least 4 hours or overnight. The paste will turn brown as it pulls out the grease. Wipe away with a damp cloth.

4. Refreshing Drains

• Method: Pour half a cup of bicarb down the drain, followed by a kettle of boiling water. This helps dissolve fatty buildup and removes "drain swamp" smells.
• As confirmed by the manufacturer this product is Vegan.

 Also suitable for aquariums and fisheries.
